Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic since the 14th of May 2017, indicated on March 11th, 2015, at the time of a Commission of economic affairs, the central role played by Devexport in Cuba in the successful substitution of Alstom-Power, then in finalization of buyback by General Electric
Verbatim : “Alstom is present in Cuba, thanks to the guarantee brought by COFACE, since the construction of the thermal power plant of Matanzas in 1985, which is the most important of the island and which can represent, according to the seasons, until 20 % of the electric consumption of the country. Solutions are about to be finalized to guarantee the continuity of the functioning of this power plant. The French company Devexport, which assures since about fifteen years the supply of equipment and materials intended for the power plant, should coordinate the activities of maintenance after June 30th, at the head of a consortium which could group in particular French CNIM Babcock Services, Jeumont Electric and Sulzer Pompes, as well as the Rumanian General Turbo.”
